Preparing for vaccinations

Whatever the vaccination nature you are going to go through, it is kinder and wiser to observe a few do's and don'ts before treatment.

Firstly, make sure your dog is in good health.  It would not be wise to take a sick dog to be injected with further chemicals and outside agents,  and according to some vets they advise that the vaccination may not even work if the dog is suffering from certain ailments.
Never take your dog for vaccinations if she is having puppies or you think she may be having puppies; but do consult your vet and make him/her aware of the pregnancy and impending vaccinations.
It is a good idea to wait in the waiting room of the vets for approximately  30 mins. after a vaccination to observe your dogs behaviour, and to be reassured that there are no serious reactions or allergies.
It is not uncommon for a dog to be slightly ill or poorly for a day or two after certain vaccinations, so be mindful of this and make sure you ask the vet if this is likely to be the case.  Also, ask the vet what symptoms to look out for just  in-case there are any other abnormal reactions.
If you stick to these rules then the process of vaccination should be easier for you and your pet.
