Important dog treatments often neglected

Claws – do they need grooming too? The issue of your dog's claws may be something you have pondered but done little about.

After all even when they get long they do neither damage to the house furnishings, nor would they seem to bother your pride and joy too much either? So do we leave them of not? Well the answer is that they should be effectively filed by their activities outside, and if they get long they are likely to be uncomfortable for your dog despite the amount of fuss they make. (Note they can easily damage eyes and ears when they scratch themselves) So unless yours is an outside dog you do need to clip them every few months.
But be sure they are done ideally professionally by a dog groomer or cautiously by you using special dog claw clippers. Be sure that they are merely trimmed as dogs do have nerves in the base of their claws.

Eyes – less likely to be overlooked than claws but our vet without question deals with more issues that are both eye related and easily preventable than any other preventable ailment – and all avoidable with just a few simple precautions.
Most eye infections start with dirt of material build up around the eye that isn't cleaned or removed regularly.
Make sure you wipe clean the eyes everyday. Remove the sleep particles, stray hairs and look out for any conjunctiva issues (excessive liquid) look out for redness and discoloration in the iris or the whites. With eyes early action is the key.
