Overview
The Dalmatian, a large, strong and muscular dog can be either black or brown spotted. This is a breed that loves to run and its boundless energy is what can prove difficult. They are good natured dogs, playful, easygoing, dedicated and good with children, very social as well. They can tend to be aggressive with other dogs though so need to be well trained. 'Care and health
The issue with this breed is the link between their mental manageability and the exercise it receives, keep this dog penned up too long without exercise and games and they will let you know about it. They are easily frustrated. Lots of park visits and long walks are a must to keep this one happy. They can live outside but they are also very social dogs so will suffer if made to do so but the good news is that their coat needs the minimum care, just a brush once a month should be fine.History
This breed hails from Yugoslavia and is one of the most distinctly and easily recognisable dogs there are, because of its coat pattern. It gets its name from the region it came from 'Dalmatia' although it is thought that the breed did not originate there but merely became popular there. The dogs original function is not known so its likely they served a number of roles (often found working in circuses). It became popular in the UK working as a coach dog (that is protecting the horse and coach when the coach was unattended). With the car becoming popular their commonality died out until the Disney film that popularised them to being one of the best loved dogs in the world.Usefull data
